My Husband, the MVP

G. Frame is on an Intermural Basketball team with all his buddies!

It's really really fun for both of us!

He gets to play an intense game of basketball with his best friends twice a week,
and me and my wives-club clubbers get some girl time
while simultaneously cheering on our men!

We both look forward to it all week!

All his games are pretty intense and fun to watch,
but nothing compares to this past Saturday's game!

They were missing 3 of their very best players,
and at half time, Hubby's team was down by 15.
Ouch is right.

I don't know what went down in that half-time locker-room chat,
but those boys hit the court ready to rock and roll!

Are you ready?
Okay, picture this:

We're down by 15.
A combination of great defense and even greater offense catches us up in no time.
We pull ahead.
They pull ahead.
We pull ahead.
They pull ahead.

12 seconds left.
Them: 52. Us: 50.
Husband gets the ball and drives hard to the basket!

Them: 52. Us: 52.
The star of the other team starts bringing the ball down the court.
We all know he's got a good chance of making it if he drives to the basket.
Good thing husband was there with his A-game defense!
The opponent falters under the pressure and trips out of bounds!
5 seconds left and G's team gets the ball!
Garrett passes it in and runs to get open!
Next thing he knows, the ball is being passed back to Husband at half court!
Buzzer is about to ring!

Insert: slow motion "Shhhhhooooooooooooot iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttttttt" here.

He catches the ball.
Tries to look over his 6'4" defender to see the basket.
No time.
He shoots the ball.

The world stops to watch!

FOR THE WIN!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, you read that correctly.
Husband made the half-court, buzzer-beater basket, for the win!

He was like a little boy on Christmas.
His whole team was jumping up and down, screaming, chest-bumping, hugging, and there were probably a few butt taps too.....or is that just in football?

It was one of the happiest moments I've ever seen G have.

Needless to say, I gave him the title of MVP!

I love that guy!

The MVP's wife!
