probably a boy or a girl baby....
definitely one of those two. for sure.
we don't want to know the gender. not until august when the little jellybean is born.
i know, i know.
we're crazy. we're going to be super un-prepared. and we are soooo patient.
actually, i'm not a patient person. i'm also not a crazy person. and if you saw the amount of baby stuff i already have, you would probably lean towards over-prepared when describing us.
don't you worry, my friends. it will all work out.
this is just how we're choosing to roll with this.
i don't know. there's just something magical about the idea of keeping it a surprise.
i'm not saying it's better than finding out at 20 weeks, like most people do.
i'm simply saying that it's definitely not worse than finding out at 20 weeks.
and our little vision of the event, it just seems pretty dang exciting.
-we like this little guessing game. we play it every day. yesterday we were thinking it was a boy. but today i'm feeling a girl. we'll switch between 'he' and 'she' multiple times in one conversation. and we like it that way.
-we like making lists of boy and girl names. and wondering which list we'll really be choosing from.
-we like talking about things we'll do with him if it's a boy, and then things we'll do with her if it's a girl.
-we like that our nursery will be gender neutral. that way we'll be able to use all the same stuff for all our babies, no matter the gender.
-same thing with clothes. if i have a boy this time, and then a girl next time, i'm not going to have to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe. just a few essentials.
-we thought it would be hard to find gender neutral clothes, but it's really not at all. our baby is going to be pretty stylin. the last month of pregnancy we plan on buying some gender specific stuff. hair bows and pink for a girl. and bowties and blue for a boy. and then we'll just return the stuff that we don't need.
-also, i really love the idea of G announcing the gender, not a tech or doctor. there's something magical sounding about this baby finally arriving and garrett being the one to lean down to me to say 'it's a boy' or 'it's a girl'. i just think that sounds kinda cool.
-i look forward to that first moment when i get to see my little babe. and being able, for the first time, to apply one of our name lists, one of our gender-specific bags of clothes, and all of our visions of fun stuff we'll do with this little guy or gal.
so, as of right now, the plan is to be surprised.
and we're really excited about it!
and for the record, seeing my baby, even in black and white blurry pictures, was one of the coolest things ever. ever. ever!
here's to 20 more weeks of pregnancy!! yay...... :D
