Last week Garrett's family was here and it was the best. Like really really the best. It was all smiles and laughter and such good food and family and just the definition of happy. We all had a blast, especially little Miss Rae. She had unlimited access to Grandma's cuddles, and Grandpa's tickles, and her Uncles undivided attention. She was spoiled rotten with love, which is exactly how it should be.
One morning we crashed the local aquarium, which was like 17 steps up from our little field trips to "petsmart." On a coolness scale of 1-10, it was a 12. There were tons of colorful fish, sharks, turtles, jellyfish, starfish we could touch (!!), sting-ray's, seahorses…..and the displays were amazing. There were little tunnels under some of the big tanks that you could crawl through and then stick your head up through a window in the middle of the tank…which made you feel like you were in the tank!
At first Rae was totally freaked out, but she warmed up to it all pretty quick. She did her fish-lips non-stop for the first half of our outing, and then decided that all the fish were really birds. Ya know, in her expert opinion. So she spent the rest of our day Caw-ing like a bird. In her defense, some of the tanks were really tall (especially to her) so I can see how she would think the fish were flying through the air like birds. It was the cutest.
Technically pictures weren't allowed, but being the rebels that we are, we snuck a few. The lighting was tough, so they aren't great, but we love them anyways!
Rae came home with her very own Nemo stuffed animal which she is still carrying around. A couple days later we put on Finding Nemo for her, and she resumed Caw-ing like a bird. Guess we have some work to do on that one!
